At Wellan Montessori School, Upper Elementary and Middle School students can join the Owls Athletic Teams or the Owls Athletic Club as after-school enrichment offerings.

Grades 5–8

Students in 5th grade and older are invited to participate in the Montessori Athletic Conference (the “Big MAC”). The mission of the Montessori Athletic Conference is to provide our students with healthy, enjoyable competition that promotes physical and social growth while teaching grace, courtesy and good sportsmanship. All students who register for the Big MAC receive a personalized team jersey. 

 

Other schools that participate in the Big MAC include Andover School of Montessori, Bay Farm Montessori Academy, Cambridge Montessori School, Harborlight Montessori School, Inly School, Kingsley Montessori School, Lexington Montessori School, Oak Meadow Montessori School, Riverbend School, Stoneridge Children’s Montessori School, Thacher Montessori School, and Woodside Academy. 

 

Wellan participates in the following sports: soccer (fall), basketball (winter), volleyball (winter), cross-country (spring), and flag football (spring). 

Grades 4–8

Owls Athletic Club is a coed multi-sport athletic club for students in Upper Elementary and Middle School. Athletic Club also serves as practice time for the Wellan sports teams. All students who register for the Owls Athletic Club receive a personalized team jersey.
